With the goal of promoting a rich and intellectually-oriented Israeli public discourse, Hashiloach serves as a platform for excellent long-form conservative writing.
Hashiloach is a quarterly journal of ideas. It has been in print since October 2016 and is renowned for its quality of writing, and intellectual and academic depth. Based in Jerusalem and written in Hebrew, Hashiloach serves as a voice for a rising cohort of writers that contribute a unique view on public policy issues to the Israeli discourse – both on heated contemporary debates and on neglected long-run issues – all while emphasizing and articulating conservative approaches.
Encounter the deepest thinking of Israel’s contemporary justices, professors, politicians and rising young scholars – Hashiloach’s pages have it all. We publish five issues annually in Hebrew, with occasional translations to English of our most popular articles. For past articles or to learn about a subscription plan, please see our Hebrew Website.
In the wake of Operation Iron Swords, Hashiloach created an online publication that offers compelling insights and ideas for leaders and laypeople alike, while Israel is on war-footing. Hashiloach Frontlines is bringing the foremost minds to bear on current circumstances and their significance and impact on the future of the Jewish state.
A particularly important project is Hashiloach’s annual pen-storming retreat – a unique blend of essay competition, writing workshop, and author retreat, designed to cultivate writers and produce original essays for future issues.
A select cohort of 10-12 applicants participate in this highly intensive two-day retreat, where writers work closely with Hashiloach’s editorial team to finalize high-quality essays drafted in advance.
Around 100 applicants have vied for a spot in our pen-storming retreat in each of the last four years.
